How long have you been a member of Roc City Rotary?
I joined in winter 2021 – first few meetings were on Zoom and I got to introduce my kitties on video! Even virtually I felt very welcomed into the group!
Why did you join Roc City Rotary?
My grandma Judy Bennett always brought me to meetings growing up, and I was particularly fascinated by Rotary’s global volunteer initiatives and the exchange student program. Her husband Paul Minor and she are still very involved in the Rotary community in Rochester, and Paul told me about Roc City and thought I may be interested! It’s great to be part of a group of young, like-minded people who enjoy working hard, giving back, and having fun.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
There are no expectations with volunteering other than helping others in some way, which is very refreshing. No agenda other than the task at hand, which I feel brings a higher focus to the work itself.
4 things you can’t live without?
Wine, cheese, my cats, and travel!
One thing you would tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
There are no boundaries, no limits to what you can do and accomplish. The sky is truly the limit and the world is a beautiful oyster waiting for you to dive in. Take all the leaps!
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I am classically trained in voice through Hochstein School of Music and used to compete and perform regularly!
